Anchor Bolts 7/8" diameter bolts or studs meeting ASTM- A-325. Use lock washers in either case. If stud, nut should also meet A-325.

The System-Wide ( SW-24 ) track fastener is intended to provide transit and commuter rail systems with a competitive, fully rubber bonded resilient DF design containing superior features to those of non-bonded DF. It is also completely rubber covered to provide maximum corrosion resistance. Like most bonded, resilient track fasteners the SW 24, consists of two metal components, the Top plate and Baseplate, bonded together with elastomer, Ductile iron is best suited for all metal components for reasons of strength, endurance, corrosion resistance and economics.

Except under extremely unusual conditions, a natural rubber compound is distinctly the elastomer of choice due to its superior resilience and enduring life-time characteristics (i.e. dynamics stiffness). The base Plate containing the anchor bolts is totally isolated by our natural rubber compound from the Top Plate which transmits forces imposed by passing trains. Acting as a buffer, the elastomer dampens the forces that would otherwise reach the Frame and thus greatly reduces the possibility of anchor bolt problems. In addition, the elastomer separating the two metal components, not only dampens rail forces, but also provides excellent electrical isolation. The Baseplate is normally supplied with two anchor bolt locations, one on each side of the rail and diagonally opposite. Openings for anchor bolts are slotted to permit ±½" gauge adjustment.

Fasteners are usually mounted directly on the concrete invert, however, if elevation between adjacent fasteners exceed 1/16", metal or appropriate plastic shims should be installed which must provide bearing surface under the full fastener "foot-print" in all positions of adjustment.

Secured on Pre-existing slab or plinth
Traditional Pour-in-place.
Mounted on Pre - Cast Block & Block poured - in - place.
Mount on steel deck.
Mount on steel plate supported by bridge timbers on open deck bridges.
