The Loadmaster designs are specifically intended to provide low track stiffness (i.e. modulus) in ballastless track. Yet they are extremely rugged and designed to withstand the most demanding heavy - axle service. This workhorse track fastener design, requiring little, if any, maintenance, is now available in 20-ton, 30-ton and 40-ton models.

The Loadmaster is described as rugged with good reason. In 1997, the 30-ton model was tested at Battelle Institute under the following conditions:
(i) 24" Fasteners Spacing
(ii) 40 ton Axles
(iii) 45 - 60 MPH Speed
(iv) 195,000,000 Gross Tonnage per year
In the end, the ATP-Loadmaster demonstrated a service life of more than 4.5 Billion Gross Tons - an impressive result for the 30-ton design.
